Delete Your Awaken Church Account

If you have an account with Awaken Church (via our website, the church management dashboard, or the Awaken Church mobile app), you can request that your account and associated personal data be deleted.
How to request deletion
- Email privacy@awakenchurch.org.za from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line “Account deletion request”.
- Our team will verify your identity before actioning the request.
- We will process your request and confirm by email once it's complete, typically within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in account and profile details (name, contact information, address).
- Household/family information, attendance records, and volunteer or group involvement tied to you.
- Prayer requests you've submitted, and device push-notification tokens.
What we may need to retain
Some information can't be deleted immediately. Giving and donation records are kept as required for tax certificate issuance and financial recordkeeping obligations; audit log entries recording actions taken by or on your account are kept for security and accountability purposes. Where this applies, we'll retain only what's required and for no longer than necessary, and remove or anonymize it once the legal basis for keeping it no longer applies.
